Which film?
Older movies, and pretty much every TV show until the late 90s, were actually produced in 4:3, and we had a weird period not too long ago that was pan & scan all over again. Simpsons on D+ and Seinfeld on Netflix are doing that right now

One of the early seasons of scrubs, but it had the ABC logo on it, so it must've been released after the show already ended
