LAKE OZARK, Mo. Former NASCAR driver and Fox Sports analyst Clint Bowyer struck and killed a pedestrian on a highway in southwest Missouri earlier this month, police said.

The crash occurred June 5 on an exit ramp off of U.S 54 near Osage Beach, Missouri, according to a crash report from Lake Ozark police.

Bowyer, a native of Emporia, Kansas, stopped immediately after the collision and called 911, police said. The woman, 47-year-old Mary Jane Simmons, of Camdenton, died at the scene.

The crash report says Bowyer showed no signs of impairment and provided a roadside blood sample that showed no trace of alcohol.

A crystalline substance was found with the womans belongings and residents at a recreational vehicle park where she was staying said they believed she was under the influence of drugs, according to the police statement.

That fucking sucks.

My cousin lives out in the sticks in Nevada, and one night while driving down the road in the dark someone jumped in front of his truck. He still carries guilt with him to this day, even though he didn't even see him until he was practically under his tires (no streetlights).

People do this shit in my town.

On my way to work I see them at 5:30 AM walking around the street in dark clothing, riding a bike with no reflectors or vest, seen people pushing a baby carriage in the center lane.

It's a main street but still you don't see them until it's too late.

Ive seen people, entire families, in my hometown walk from their neighborhood on the west side of the interstate to the Walmart on the east side, and back again. And this is one of the busiest sections of road during the day time.

Yeah, that definitely checks out for the Lake.
