I went from thinking this show is complete trash and unsalvageable, to getting literally every single thing I needed from this show in one episode. Utterly fucking fantastic. If episode 6 can stick the landing, itll be 2/6 episodes that I actually liked, but that may be completely worth it in the end.

Its fine. Oddly, this episode hurt my opinion of the series. I can see no reason why Vader would allow Reva to live. Isnt the point of his little goth metal band to KILL FORCE USERS? But they just let Reva go to wander the universe. If theyre going to let an enemy force user go then you wonder what the point in hunting any of them are.

I've been enjoying the series. I'm loving peak Vader. That said, this show has made some truly stupid decisions and a lot doesn't make sense with how it's written.

Vader letting Reva live was the dumbest thing ever.

And this is what makes me roll my eyes at any fanbase. 1 episode out of 6, or 8, or 10, or 15 is fantastic so it's an 8/10 show.

No thats not what Im saying at all.

If the last 1/3rd of the show nails the landing and leaves me satisfied. I got enough enjoyment from this show that it justified its existence. Do I think the show will be overall fantastic or worthwhile? No not at all. Ill still be highly disappointed by all the moronic decisions and what we didnt get for 4 whole episodes.

I roll my eyes at people on the internet inability to parse things without resorting to extremes. Either we have to universally hate something, or love it, theres no room for in between. And we have no ability to recognize and praise the successes amongst the failures and discuss them equally. Its exhausting that we cant have these conversations without it being one side vs another.

It's had a few cool moments but overall I find the writing very contrived, Reva's actress is not very good nor is the character particularly interesting, and really I think making the central plot of the series being a rescue mission of Leia was not the direction I feel they should have gone.

And one episode was lifted almost entirely from Fallen Order yet wasn't as compelling.

I have only watched the first 3 episodes, but I am enjoying it. There are a lot of glaring plot holes that you have to be willing to overlook and just enjoy the show for what its trying to do.

I'm wondering why these motherfuckers haven't used shit like the Imperial March and the Kenobi/Force theme.

That shit is a little distracting, especially when John Williams was involved in a track or two in this. Ludwig Gransson has done a great job with Mandalorian and Boba Fett, but everything else outside him and Williams sounds generic and flat.

Idk, because they obviously use several of the iconic themes in The Mandalorian and even Boba Fett. And Solo as well. Rogue One tried really hard to avoid it.

It just comes off weird and feels like it's Disney not wanting to throw Williams extra royalties or something lol.

Vader let her live either because she can be useful in her obvious revenge and also because Vader made it absolutely clear she is not a threat to him in any way. She showed her hand already, and it did absolutely nothing to him.

No. His explanation is actually perfectly sensible.

Nah, vader has killed people for far less, so the scene seemed out of character at best, and contrived at worst. Same for Vader letting Obi Wan go initially and his 'duel' in the ep.

Anyways people are saying this ep was amazing, but I'm not seeing it. Just more of the same nonsense and terrible writing we've seen before.

Making the empire and Vader look like complete idiots.

I do agree though people typically have an extremely hard time changing their mind on things and accepting that things can have both good and bad elements.

The bit where Vader learns from his padawan training ass whooping and uses it against Reva was great.

The end where Kenobi uses a second ship as a ruse to trick a more powerful force user who has them completely trapped was fantastic.

Vader may be a Sith now but he will forever be Kenobis padawan.

The Vader Vs Reva fight might have been my favourite fight in the franchise if I cared at all about reva. She is so boring

I think people forget how cheesy of a guy Darth Vader actually is.

This is a guy who hangs out in a castle on a volcano planet.

This is a guy who *ESB spoilers* instead of immediately sending troops or going himself to immediately capture Leia and Han Solo he decides to get Lando to invite them to a dinner so they can be surprised by him sitting at the end of a dining table with his cheesy one liner ready to go.

His theatrics around Reya are on brand.

That was so cool. The whole right scene might be one of my favourites in star wars history. But especially the way he completely controlled the fight and used so little energy to make her look completely below him.

just finished episode 5. Hyped for episode 6. Honestly think obi wan as a whole might be better than any of the prequel movies

I liked ep5, but the writing was still bad. Not as bad as ep4, but still took me out of it a few times. I still think ep3 was strongest.

I don't know, I think people tend to be nicer to tv shows than movies, but not sure this is actually any better than Solo. Just as unnecessary. But maybe the last episode will make it worthwhile and have a reason to exist.

I want to say that Vader letting Reva live is a giant middle finger to her. "You spent your entire life helping me hunt down and kill Jedi and Force-sensitives in an effort of gaining my favor so you could have a chance to strike me down, and you failed. Now you must live with your failure.

Though honestly that feels more like a Palpatine move than Vader move. Palpatine is brutally ruthless in EU stuff, both Legends and Canon.

Though the specific case I'm thinking of may have been Vader letting a Rebel live
