It's fake so there is that. There's nothing of intrinsic value that backs it up i.e. gold etc.

Federal Reserve Notes are backed by Treasury securities and mortgage agency securities (Fannie Mae, Ginnie Mae, etc).

Talking about crypto in any capacity is just no good. Giving it any kind of platform period is simply dangerous.

i'm really glad my boyfriend got over crypto and NFTs before they all tanked.

i tried to explain to him the stuff i had been learning about how much of a scam they are but he was really mentally invested in the idea he could get rich off the things. then one day he just.. stopped caring about them. and i'm glad for it.

lolwut? Most currencies aren't backed by gold anymore. Even the US moved away from the gold standard. In fact, the US hasn't been using it likely since before you were born.

Crypto is far too big for that policy to work and by not knocking it you make it seem more socially acceptable.

I hope you'll permit me just this one alt that has a username similar to my main.

I know a guy who has about 10k into it and almost did 20k in the beginning of the year before he had a baby. He's in denial now and saying he'll probably go ahead and double up.

See, he can afford to lose 10k. Even 20k, but it's almost like he's pissed off and just being obstinate about it. I'm not saying anything either. I just told him I'm not investing anything into it.

I know another guy who put 50k into crypto in a day a month or two into covid. Haven't heard from him since.

Personally, my girlfriend makes more than me because she's into medical sales and she's also one of those girls who made straight A's in school and university. I trust her on shit like this. If she's not getting into it. I'm not either. Her batting average is pretty damn good.

I mean, that's not an indication of anything. There are doctors who lost fortunes buying junk stocks, etc. Just because you're good in one field doesn't necessarily qualify somebody for another, particularly when there are no transferrable skills.
