Yeah but unless the name Vader is said during that time...
There was a recording of Palpatine calling him Lord Vader in the security holograms at the Jedi temple. It's how Yoda and Obi-Wan learned the name, too. Clearly they weren't exactly secretive about the name during the slaughter.

She could have heard that, or maybe a clone called him Vader; could be anything.

Loved the episode. That was a great fight and Kenobi destroyed Vader.

Though the Owen/Reva stuff felt so tacked on and unnecessary lol. Though it made sense in that every lightsaber battle in the franchise is interlaced with a secondary conflict going on.

Kenobi leaving Vader alive seems like way too big of a risk. Like, this ain't some normal bad guy. He's a genocidal maniac, and is already mad about being left for dead once. Now he's left embarrassed too.

As the antagonist of the show, I would say it's important that she get some kind of resolution.

I mean if there's one thing to take out of this, it's that Reva's life is now completely upended and she'll have to figure herself out.

That duel was probably my favorite in all of Star Wars, none of the fancy twirling dueling sabers in ROTS where they just concentrated on hitting each other's lightsaber, here the fighting had much more weight to it and it was believable that they were trying to go at the body. I wonder who did the choreography, it's way better than Vader and Obi-Wan's first encounter.

McGregor and Christenson have good chemistry on screen too

Ewan and Hayden up for another season too. Id rather they both get separate shows though, no need to do a second season with both as the lead.

-Reva should have just died last week, her plot this episode just felt like a waste of time from the Vader/Obi-Wan battle
While it didn't make sense for Vader to not finish it, I don't think her story this episode was a waste. Her actions, letting go, and redemption paralleled Obi-Wan's

In the same universe where Maul survived getting bissected and falling down a bottomless pit, I didn't question it.

But it also makes it look ridiculous when someone like Qui-Gon can die from getting stabbed.

So one thing I've often been disappointed with regarding the PT is that they almost always showed Obi-Wan and Anakin clashing. So rarely (except probably the Battle of Coruscant, really) were they truly acting as brothers. Both Clone Wars and The Clone Wars liked to show these moments where they are actually good friends.

If there was an added flashback scene in this series that I would have really liked, it would have been for Obi-Wan to honestly truly miss the good times he had with Anakin. Actual good times between them, to help cement the emotional connection of their relationship.

I enjoyed the show but that last episode fell a little flat for me. I think it needed to be longer because as it is, it was a series of contrivances to force the important plot beats as fast as possible. Wish it had had some room to breathe idk.

Also liked how they made Owen and Beru kinda badass

Makes me think they actually caused a lot of trouble for the storm troopers which is why they burned them alive instead of just shooting them lol

Also He is my own and just the whole way they defended Luke really makes their eventual death actually sad

Awesome episode. My one minor but creatively kind of major nitpick is when Anakin/Vader tells Obi-Wan he didn't kill Anakin Skywalker.
It should've been:

Vader in Hayden's voice: You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker
Vader in James Earl Jones' voice: I did!

It's by far THE way to hammer that point, yet I see why they might have thought of it and disregarded it as RotJ shows Anakin never truly did die. But man, that voice would've made that moment work on more levels.

Speaking of emotional connection... that was by far the thing I enjoyed watching this show.
In the OT Obi-Wan was a clever, kindhearted old man watching over Luke and became Luke's mentor. But I never got the feeling he cared for Luke and Leia beyond the "important for the Force/future" thing. Here we see and are explicitly told in the finale that in these children he sees all that was good/admirable in the man he once considered a brother.

I like how each part has a reference to a saga episode counterpart.

Part I: A youngling embarks on a new journey, or rather gets taken away on a new journey

Part II: Clone trooper

Part III: A duel ends with someone on fire

Part IV: Heroes infiltrate an Imperial facility to save a Princess

Part V: Imperials invade the base while heroes make an escape

Part VI: Redemption story

The show creators knew what they were doing

I like to think Obi-Wan just said "Hello there" and then walked away with no further context.

I overall really enjoyed the show. It felt like the bridge between Anakin and Vader that was sorely missing in the prequels. I would rather see more Hayden as Vader than Obi-Wan personally. Like seeing how things changed in Coruscant immediately after Revenge of the Sith and the upheaval of the politics. Problem is there's no real protagonist to follow though.

Revisiting old stuff is definitely a problem Disney is stuck in but getting back some of these prequel actors to flesh out some weaknesses from the prequels has overall been worth it.

While I enjoyed the show and the last two episodes were good, I feel like it didn't really add anything to the mythos of the series at large. They were really spinning the wheel for most of these 6 episodes, and I can't help but think "Did Obi-Wan really need two rematches with Vader? Does this take away from them seeing each other in episode IV after decades upon decades from the Mustafar fight?" Idk, I'm conflicted. Obi-Wan was badass and I loved the lines we heard from Hayden with his half broken mask. The emotions coming from Obi-Wan when he says how sorry he is was amazing. They felt like humans talking to each other instead of the weird prequel stuff.

I just feel like as a prequel show it didn't bring enough to the table still. Very conflicted.

Maul in Rebels basically shit himself in fear and ran away the second he felt Vader was on his way. I'm not sure any confrontation would be a good one for him.

You know, I think this series sort of adds more depth to the scene in Episode IV where Leia comforts Luke over Bens death. Everyone calls out that scene on how ridiculous it is for Leia to sit there and comfort Luke when her whole planet was just destroyed, but now we know she had an established relationship with Ben and was probably just as upset by his death as Luke was.
