Ive only gotten one emerald in Sonic Mania so far, i couldnt even find one in the green hill zone stages. How tf do i get good in this game?

I think this is the first official confirmation that Sonic 3's music was written by Michael Jackson, not that there was really any doubt. >_>

My only complaint is that the menu is slow as fuck unless I turn down the resolution. I can run DMC5 at max, but it can't handle Origin's menu lol. The games run perfectly fine though

Origins is a remastering of Sonic 1-3& Knuckles, and Sonic CD.

Sonic Mania is a Sonic game with some old levels and some of their own new ones.

Origins is the mobile ports, which has a bunch of QoL features like widescreen, all characters playable, infinite lives, extras like Hidden Palace Zone in Sonic 2, etc.

A combination of the Sonic 2 special stage now being in actual-3D and the ability to retry a stage if you fail means you can feasibly get all the chaos emeralds by the end of Emerald Hill.

3D special stages was one of my favorite changes from Sonic 2 mobile. It made it so much less frustrating than when it was a 5fps blurry halfpipe >_>

I remember when I was a kid getting them all in sonic 2 before I even left Emerald Hill. Man back then you had to make these games last.

Sonic 2 was way too long to not have saves.

One thing I never knew was that you could hit him from behind as long as you didn't touch that flame. It always took me forever to fight him. I would get impatient sometimes and just learn to do a perfect jump and hit him right in his balls where he was vulnerable. Sped up the fight but was real risky and could get you killed with one slight error

Crazy that stage had you fight two bosses and didn't give you even a single ring.

Once you recognize the patterns, it isn't too bad. It just takes a while to learn it and on the OG Genesis version, that was a looooong trip to refight the final boss

Yeah it wasn't so bad once you realized how the timing works. Problem with that level is that it gives you one single ring and you have to defeat Robo Sonic first.
Robo Sonic is actually much harder than Robotnik.

Robo Sonic is actually much harder than Robotnik.

Robo sonic is pretty easy and you can beat him extremely fast. The key is essentially to try to speedrun him. You can bounce off the front of his head like 3 times as he stands still, then dodge, then do it again when he stands still. Then spindash through him when he does standing dashes across the floor. I'm pretty sure that's how I did it as a kid.

It seems like you can only hit him once but if you do the jump right you can hit him 2-3 times. Just don't bounce off him really

Just beat Sonic 2 with Tails. Took several tries with Robo Sonic, but Robotnik is a joke if you're patient.

I'm going to wait for a physical. Surely there will be one...
