even in 2007, a lot of older accounts were being purged due to inactivity. and that is only assuming the name was once taken by someone else. for all we know, maybe i actually was the first person to register "Mega Man" lol

there used to be a backdoor method to making space accounts, if you brought a gamespot account to gamefaqs with a username that was taken on gamefaqs, the system would allow you to pick a username with spaces. it was patched up in early 2007, like a month after i made this account.

nope, cjayc or allen ever did anything about it. they accepted it, probably because quite a few users were doing it.
