They didnt take away or give rights when they decided those cases. The people who make the laws are House/Senate. If Dems for example want abortion legalized in all 50 states they have to make that law. There are several states where nothing is going to change like NY, CA, and MA. It is mainly the red states that are effected by the ruling.

The 14th Amendment says outright that States cannot deprive liberty without due process.

Forcing women to do something is literally, in every meaning of the word, depriving liberty. So yes, the Constitution guarantees the right to Abortion.

That's how it should be but there are a few justices on there who want to burn the Constitution and rule only based on what they personally think should be the case. They're commonly known as the liberal justices. Note their lack of citation of anything in the Constitution itself in the dissent.

Every single one of the liberal justices routinely spits on the Constitution in their rulings, with Sotomayor being particularly shameless.

At this point the 3 justices constantly on the side of the 6-3 rulings need to just resign, call the court illegitimate, and deny the conservatives any pretense of being anything other than a rubber stamp for the fascists.

Its kind of fucked up how a small group of people with that much power that WE THE PEOPLE dont even vote in get lifelong terms

80% of Americans believe abortion should be legal. So why do five individuals that we citizens didnt even elect get to change everything across all 50 states?

I do think it's pretty strange how an institution that is supposed to be non-biased has very clear and open (and honestly to an extent, extreme) justices on one side of the political spectrum or the opposite.

The Supreme Court is conceptually supposed to be a governing body that is independent of the typical political pressure & biases, but both democrats & republicans have figured out how to control it to their favor. Though this specific instance is a case of Democrats being stupid enough to cede Obama's ability to select his Justice when it was his right, on the basis of Republican petty BS, & complacent enough to ignore Republicans' open vows to overturn Roe v Wade someday.

You've made your point, I can't argue against that.

The reality of the situation is that democrats need to make right to abortion a constitutional amendment (which they obviously cant do right now, but in the future). Eventually in republicans states there will be people who run on a pro-choice, pro-gun, pro-business, anti-tax policy and they will beat the candidate that is pro-life.
