Games with multiple endings

Started playing Omori and a friend mentioned there's multiple endings/routes and I just want to play whatever the true ending is supposed to be. Thinking back anytime I've played a game I just want whatever the "true" experience is supposed to be. Not to say it isn't fun to go back and get other endings.

Depends on where the gate points are, dont really enjoy having to play the entire game over to experience a different final 15 minutes.

I prefer multiple routes, but mostly if they impact other story related stuff outside of the ending, since they invite multiple playthroughs.

if they only affect the ending, then I don't care as much, and just watch the alternate endings on YouTube.

It's like creating an artificial loop saying, 'You didn't play the game the way I wanted you to play, so now you're punished and you're going to come back and play it again until you do what I want you to do.' In an action game, I can get that - why not? It's all about skills. But in a story-driven experience it doesn't make any sense. - David Cage

I dont mind it either way. If I can't be bothered to replay the game or if I can't make multiple saves at the branching points I just look up the other endings on youtube or something. I know it must drive completionists up the wall though lol

It depends a lot on the type of game or how they go about it. Something like Mass Effect 3 was terrible in part *because* of its branching paths. Inversely Langrisser basically becomes good because of the massive amount of replayability from its branching paths.

I've rarely played a "multiple endings" game where the ending doesn't hinge on one choice right before the end, so I voted D. I mostly play JRPGs though when this comes into play.

I like to see the multiple endings. Though I prefer to know the first choice point that leads to an alternate ending so I can drop a save there and not play the entire game up to that point again.

Kind of like the Mass Effect/BioWare style where you wind up in the same-ish ending but your journey in the meat of the game is up to you for the most part
