I don't trust that Sultan would recognize the dumb recent Rocko special as flavor and choose to accept Ben as town for it so we probably do?

Also for the love of everything people there is no other reasonable explanation for the no kill. I'm going to reiterate killing me would be fucking stupid.

If you are going to argue Lea, I would be smart enough as scum to throw a tertiary role at claimed untargettable on the first night to test, I'm not dumb enough to allow a shot to be stopped like that.

Anyway since I can read the room and I know I'm the wishful thinking of a bunch of you I need to come clean because scum hedged their bets on my gambit and we don't have enough night actions to stop it anyway.

I was in fact unknown backup. I learned on Hans lynch(Actually, 12 hours later because Sultan mess up) that I was backup to town power mislynch. I am currently full doctor. I was roleblocked on N1(Trying to save ben, I was waffling between him and mzero and decided no one would shoot mzero because everyone assumes hes scum). N2 I did in fact save IGCD. N3 scum picked up on my gambit and roleblocked me again(My suspicions of Lea increased slightly, because she notable picked up on the fact that red never claims without a reason). I was trying my hardest to make scum think I only had a single save because if the claim was unknown they probably just don't shoot IGCD again but likely roleblock him).

That said, its a low bar. But i would be surprised if DYL or plum is setting up scum night actions. They have been fairly optimal. So someone of reasonable mafia intelligence is likely in charge.

Just a heads up, I am a bit distracted right now with IRL roommate Covid shenanigans.
Still need to see if its bad for me too or not.

You know, I feel like I recall having a conversation with Ben a looong time ago, where he told me that he'd want to try fakeclaiming Lie Detector as Mafia eventually.

Might just be a false memory, and I won't pretend that it's reason to suspect Ben. Just thought I'd voice it on the funny chance that this happened to be the game where that came true.

Anyway, with Red's recent claim, no sense lynching him now. Mafia is very likely to kill him tonight, and if he lives, then either the Mafia is foolish to let live the doctor who already stopped one kill or Red is scum.
... Or they (conveniently) keep him roleblocked. Well, hmm... that's an issue. Ehhh maybe this isn't such a smart idea.

In any case, I was thinking the lynch needed to be between Ben and Red, but perhaps they're both telling the truth. Tidus is back on the chopping block for now.

Okay two backups is unusual
But this could be a low power game with backups intended to make up for it.
Though it is odd to me that Bens claimed backup is now functionally different from reds claimed backup.

But I trust Ben on one hand and he did get scanned by IGCD
It also just seems most likely to me that Red really did stop a kill on IGCD.
I'd say I want to ISO them both, but I think Kirby has a point in that both will resolve themselves normally at this rate.

Anyway, i cant state enough that it in all likelihood we had only one full time scanner and mafia has a full time roleblocker. The backups make a hell of a lot more sense in this context.

The only curious thing to me is what happened to scum n2 roleblock. Were i in scums position I probably dont change rb targets but i am curious who they think hinted power

I've had a fairly strong Town read on you this game, Kirby, but your responses to the backup claims have made me a lil paranoid.

You made it very clear in post 77 that it was going to take, and I quote, "a very good explanation for Red to weasel out of this one". Point is, I don't think Red has said a thing that would convince someone who didn't believe him originally that he's Town. Lynching a fulltime doctor claim is usually stupid (do not ask me about the FE Awakening game I beg of you) and I understand coming to the conclusion you don't want to kill him as a result. is enough to convince anyone enough to go from "Red is gonna need an amazing explanation for why he didn't respond to Ben" to "oh perhaps they're both telling the truth". I'd love for you to tell me what exactly Red said to make you flip between the two. Or do you still think he's probably scum, and just aren't interested in trying to resolve it today?

but red said he got a 1 use backup.

Ulti trying to get himself "confirmed" town with a line that doesn't confirm town when in theory ulti should already be confirmed town does make me a bit more nervous than I was earlier in the day.

I don't think he processed that "I am scum and know x y z or whatever arent on my team" only functions for lie detector if you get a truth. If you get a lie you wasted a scan because they could be scum but one of the names in the list could also be scum. In no way does it ever confirm the person posting town.

Lie detector could theoretically be used cleverly but really is best for just a pure "I am scum/town" and then lie detect for a cop scan. Otherwise it always provides a bit of ambiguity.

Honestly the mechanics of the Lie detector role fascinate me.
Does it tell you the actual truth or just the truth as a player believes it?
Considering that its the host that gives an answer, I assume its the former.

I do feel like Ben could have used his ability on like a hundred posts by now tho. Even if nobody of his targets answered his direct question.

Things that are belief don't factor into it, if I had to guess. It tells if a player "lied". IE, scum saying they are town, town saying they scum, someone lying about their role, someone saying its tuesday on a not-tuesday.

I don't know how it functions if someone talks out of their ass, say town randomly saying "x is scum" with no proof or "x is town" with no proof.

The way it is worded, it is independent of that persons belief. So it sounds like if say I said "death is scum" it would lie detect that from host perspective and not mine.

But I also think that goes against the spirit of fun and that it could be argued that "talking out of ass" isn't the same as lying.

So, I could theorize, but not sure.

Ben could maybe get clarification.?

100%. I don't know exactly why he didn't or if maybe he decided to try a dumb town gambit, but I have faith in the IGCD scan and if he was honest not using that lie detector was a big misplay(Unless we can murder roleblocker today, that scan isn't happening).

Well I am still unsure if its 4 or 5 scum, but I feel like the former fits better.

Tidus is in there definitely at least.
I disagree with Ben that Plum targeted both his remaining teammates tho. Or rather I dont think its gonna be that easy that both BCT and Tidus are scum.

Based on the Han lynch I really feel like Kirby or Ulti have a good chance of being the 2nd scum. But that would assume that Ulti is a flavor godfather. Though really that is not that farfetched. Plus I have felt at least good about some of Kirby's posts.

You arent out of the pool yet either, but you have done annoyingly little to tip my radar in either direction.

Lea and Ben I have felt generally good about and Sheep I really cant see as scum due sticking to Plum there at the end of day1.

Honestly my inclination is to just go forward with the lynch Tidus plan and see what happens after. If Red is a real doctor scum cannot keep him around indefinitely.
