They strap it to your wrist and activate it however something goes wrong during the time travel sequence. The device starts to vibrate and in a flash instead of traveling 60 years into the future, you find yourself traveling 30. As such you don't arrive in the lab they planned to have prepped to recieve you in 60 years, but instead just appear outside what used to be your home only it's 2052. You are puzzled by the changes as you walk along the streets but that puzzlement fades in horror as you discover what happened to your family. You find your very pregnant daughter living in the back of a Ford transit van. She doesn't recongize you nor does she know who the father is and she makes a living selling tubs of spit online and claiming they're from the popular internet girl of the moment. She says she can't get a real job because the police are after her over a number of charges including the theft of a van. She adds that your son is doing time in prison after stabbing 3 people in a bar fight (one of whom was German) over a drug deal gone wrong and that her other parent died years ago after being run over by a drunk cop who got paid leave and then just moved to another department. You look at the device on your wrist and realize you have enough juice to travel back in time 30 years or forward another 30 like the experiment was supposed to.
