Our retirees are taken our to lunches with every department, thrown a big party, and they get plenty of gifts. They also get a free turkey for thanksgiving and ham for christmas for the rest of their lives. The same applies at where I work right now, where the caterers are basically the bottom of the social hierarchy. Whenever someone has a anniversary or quits, most of the company won't even notice, but their colleagues/people they hang out with generally throw a party/gathering for them (unless the person in question made it clear they don't want that). So if the company won't do it, there's nothing stopping co-workers from arranging a get-together on their own, whether it's at work (if the company doesn't mind) or at a nearby restaurant/bar. --- One time, CE triggered me so hard with their objectively wrong opinions that I accidentally punched myself in the balls. <cite>Aressar posted [p:966197613] in A man at m...
