That feels like forever ago.

All I remember is:

• US kept it's promise and left.
• Afghanistan president ran away.
• Taliban took control.
• Taliban took US gear.

Then what...?

They stripped women of all their rights and plunged their country back into a tribal state where no one really believes in any one legitimate government. The leader of the Taliban actually just visited Kabul for the first time since the takeover yesterday in order to meet with a bunch of clerics to talk about how they're going to rule the country.

Still doing shitty Taliban things, but the small American brain has moved onto other shit to be outraged by. Like non-existent 'grooming' and 'CRT being taught to 9 year-olds'.

We withdrew last September and if you recall for about 3 weeks on the news was nothing but "US leaves Afghanistan" and "Airport bombing" and all this crap.

And then after 3 weeks, no one cared.

Not that I knew this before reading this post. But it's fun to be in the know and be cool. So let's pretend I did

Went back to the way it was.

Some people don't want to change.

So why have our own going and getting killed, crippled or disfigured?

If that's the way they want it, then that's they way they get it.

The U.S. never gave a shit about the Afghani people. Invading their country was just a stepping stone for the invasion of Iraq.

The only reason the occupation lasted as long as it did was because it was a massive cash cow for big business.

The Taliban took over almost right after America left. What honestly can America do to help Afghanistan?

Goes to show. People consume what ever the media/propaganda feeds you.

We as citizens never really know what's going on. Like we never get to know the 100% raw truth of anything.
