So there's this guy who's been a bit of a mythical figure in weightlifting over the past 10 years. Lifting weights is pretty easy to class. You pick stuff up, or you can't - that's how strong you are. And in terms of strength and athletic ability, he is right there in like the top 3-5 olympic rankings. Like his all time best training total (done in a commercial gym) would have got him gold medal at the last olympics in his weight class. He's less than 10lbs away from the all time biggest total in his weightclass. 10lbs. Like the weight of a watermelon.

But...he doesn't compete. He doesn't agree with the ethics of the sport, and he doesn't agree with the way they dole out drug testing. He openly uses PEDs, but anyone who knows the sports isn't surprised by this, and knows it takes nothing away from him. The guy could easily pass a urine test, compete in the Olympics and go and get a medal, but he doesn't.

All he's done the past 10 years is just upload shitty low-res videos of him lifting superhuman weights, with no preamble or ego or nonsense. He trains in the corner of a church basement in ireland.

Imagine if Wayne Bradey or Neymar or some guy who could run a sub 9.7s 100m was just a guy who fooled around in his back garden for fun and thought competitive sports is stupid.

(Also, he's vegan)
