Im open to it. But I don't believe in anything. I don't wanna lock in and stop taking everything into consideration. Im comfortable in the unknown

There's no strong evidence to suggest the premise is even remotely true, but that still doesn't mean they can't believe. To me, it's like a placebo effect if the idea of an afterlife gives the person comfort or makes them a better person, more power to them. If it starts doing the opposite, I will put my foot down.

I actually find it more believable than the notion that there's some omnipotent deity lurking and watching everything claiming to be for benevolence but doesn't create a perfect world due to someone eating an apple

Speaking only for myself, when I used to believe in an afterlife, I felt much less inclined to improve the world I actually demonstrably lived in. Like, why give a shit about this dump I'm only in for a handful of decades when I'm just gonna prance off to some magical wonderland for eternity?

Heh, I'm kinda the opposite. I kared more about the state of the planet and population when I was a good little Christian. Now it doesn't matter if there's an afterlife/god or not. Best thing life kan reasonably do for future generations is die before giving birth to said generations.

I think it's incredibly dumb and stupid, but as long as they are keeping it to themselves (along with their religion in general) then I don't really care. As long as it gives them comfort/happiness and they aren't using it to determine how others act or can do, then I don't really care in the slightest.

Because In 200000 years none have got it Right. We use Gods to explain the unexplainable. The Jews started Judism around 3000bc. Christanity 33bc, and Islam 800AD. It wasn't till the Enlightiment did we get beyond what a religion can do too keep people in check. Hell all 3 have even had their own internal struggles which have killed untold amounts of people. I think till theres proof of a "God" we should drop religions altogether.
