This story is wild. The Wild draft this Russian dude in 2015 knowing he's a long term project. He's committed to the Russian league for a few years, then needs to come to the US and can play for the Wild. His first year on the ice with the Wild was 2020.

2020, plays about half the year and lights it up.
2021, plays all year and continues lighting it up.

Dude's a unit and is probably the third biggest pro talent in Minnesota sports (behind ANT and Jefferson). Anywho, offseason comes, and presumably he heads back to Russia to see family.

Like a week ago, he somehow gets tied to some Russian Islanders goalie who allegedly used like, fake military IDs to get out of the service or something like that, it's unclear. I couldn't really follow it or how Kaprizov got connected to all that.

Now, he's reportedly been denied entry back into the US TWICE.

It was unclear whether he was like, stuck in Russia or what. We didn't know if he couldn't get out of Russia or if the US was denying entry or what.

But now this report is saying he tried to get back to the US via Dubai or the Caribbean, so it looks like Russia has no problem letting him out. Yet for some reason, now the US won't let him in.

This shit is crazy.
