Here's all the other game rewards to compare:

GTA3: Getting all hidden packages got you every single weapon except the flamethrower at all your hideouts

San Andreas: Getting all 200 hidden packages would get various SMGs, rifles, shotguns, and grenades in all your main hideouts. A little limited, but it still gave you the weapons you'd use the most.

Vice City: You get Armor, a Chainsaw, a Revolver, a flamethrower....with 6 ammo, a Sniper Rifle, a Minigun, and a Rocket Launcher. And a couple of vehicles that spawn on a military base that are a pain in the ass to get to.

No SMG, No Assault Rifles, no Grenades, no Shotguns. So if you die and collect everything there, you still can't do a driveby or use anything simple to use for general combat. The Rocket Launcher and Sniper Rifle are great, but everything else sucks >_>

They seriously couldn't just put any SMG on that list? The fuck

Damn, it's been probably 20 years since I did that but didn't you get an Apache helicopter for finding and getting them all?

I wanted to buy San Andreas years ago and accidentally bought Vice City. Kinda disappointed but I should still at least go on one killing spree.

Yeah but it's inside a military base on the edge of the map and everyone will just gun you down with M16s unless you go to the other side of the map in Washington Beach and grab the cop uniform first.

It's so out of the way to grab >_> I wish it spawned on your property like in San Andreas

What's the annihilator? Is that a rocket launcher?

I can't remember, did they give any way of indicating which packages you got, or did you have to open a guide and search every spot one by one? That is my biggest pet peave in any game where collectibles are spread across a giant map.

Nope! You gotta write them down or you're fucked lol. The game doesn't keep track of where you got them. There's mods on PC that can show them on a map tho

TC apparently doesn't know it also spawns at the house with the helicopter pad in Ocean Beach.

The Annihilator is useless anyhow. It's larger and less maneuverable than the Maverick, the miniguns do pitiful damage, and aiming them is next to impossible.
The Hunter in Vice City and San Andreas, while again losing to the Maverick in agility, has twin rocket pods.

next to the ambulance, taxi and police missions, this was the worst.

granted that all of them had their perks but goddammit dude, it gets tiring pretty quickly when you do the same thing for hours! lol

Ugh, it makes you feel punished for exploring if you don't have a map nearby at all times to check things off.

Assassin's Creed 2 and it's feathers
GTA and it's packages
Spiderman 2 and it's exploration tokens
Hell, even as recent as Arceus with it's wisps.

My favorite thing to do in VC was enable the low gravity cheat, spawn in a tank, point the barrel behind and continue to fire. BOOM! Flying tank, baby.
