I looked into it. To power my home in an outage, 1800 square feet, $14k for a Generac generator that runs the whole house (It runs on natural gas). I just can't believe it's that much. ... Copied to Clipboard!

You dont need to power your entire house during an outage. ive got a 4000 watt Honda generator that I bought for $500 used a decade ago. Get that, install a generator transfer switch. 4000 watts is enough to run heat, tv, fridge, oven, and some lights.
