Went overboard last night which I do at least a few times a year and repeat the same line each time that Im never drinking again.

Woke up today with back pain, stomach pain, and a specific spot on my chest burns.

Never worth it and I dont know why I always go past that point of feeling good.

Im getting too old for this lol

Feel it bro. We went out for Mexican on Sunday. Had a pitcher of margaritas, and a few more glasses of wine when I got home.

I still dont feel 100% right. Im done with that shit.

obviously I have a problem with moderation, so I need to just stop completely.

My biggest issue if I drink too much is extreme anxiety the next day. I feel like I did something wrong the night before even though I usually didn't.

Just have a couple a night and be done.

I know I know. After that initial buzz I start having fun and then when I hit that point of being drunk and feeling good it becomes a matter of self control.

The trick is to get so used to waking up feeling like shit that it becomes normal. Eventually it doesn't even faze you anymore.

Do you normally have anxiety in general? Ive very rarely drink enough to not remember details of my night. I hate that my wife drank a little more than me and shes completely fine today. We still got 2 hours to go on this road trip home too and all I want to do is take some ibuprofen and go to bed for the day lol

I have some generalized anxiety, yes. But sooooo much worse after getting drunk.

And it isn't that I don't remember. I usually do, other than when I go way too far. I still just feel I did something wrong even though my gf or friends assure me I was cool.

This is actually one of my tamest hangovers too. Usually Im dealing with nausea half the day where Im dry heaving.

The worst one was the nausea mixed with dizziness and shaking. Every time Id fall asleep my body would wake me up shortly after. This would last for several hours until I was finally able to sleep it off.

I once tried flushing my curtains down the toilet while drunk just to see if it was possible.

Never again.

good luck with sobriety

it's a long road

but if you're not chemically addicted it is possible to quit. strongly recommend using a mindfulness app to help manage the feelings and social discomfort you'll experience

Thanks! Im starting to feel better now. That car ride was brutal. I usually have a glass or two of wine every other week. When I go on vacation or if Im out and about and start having a lot of fun I over do it and hate myself for not controlling myself.

Yeah I can't remember the last time I was stupid drunk. When I'm done drinking I can still walk a staight line and talk without slurring. I still get to feeling pretty good though

some of us have a really hard time controlling that -- we always want just a little more because if 5 feels good, surely 6 will feel better, right? at least, that's how my addict brain works. i learned it was easier to abstain than it was to regulate.
