Of the four ingame trade-only Pokemon in Red/Blue:
-Farfetch'd can be found in the wild on Routes 12 and 13 in Yellow.
-Lickitung can be found in Cerulean Cave in Yellow, and in the Safari Zone in Japanese Blue.
-Jynx can be found in Seafoam Islands in Japanese Blue.

As a consequence--and eliminating the time machine from Gen 2--Mr. Mime is the only Pokemon in all of Gen 1 that cannot be legally-obtained without a nickname.

i had no idea that you can only get mr mime in gen 1 through trade only.

does the traded mr mime have fixed dvs? so people who use mr mime on online simulators with maxed out dvs have an illegal mr mime possibly?

I'm not sure if the DVs with trade evolutions are randomized or not, but I don't really consider the simulators to factor in whether a Pokemon is illegal unless they have moves they can't have.

I literally have DUX in my Pokemon Shield storage box, brought all the way from the 3DS Pokemon Blue.

Because the International Red/Blue based its encounter rates on those of the original Red/Green, because they better synergied with each other.

Japanese Blue came after and changed some things around, which took it out of sync.
