Looks pretty good. I haven't read any of ASOIAF outside of the main series, so the storyline will be mostly original to me.

I don't imagine the writing can realistically be as good as the early seasons of GOT, where they had incredibly rich material to draw from - as I understand it, the source material for this is more like a history/trivia book than a novel. But that also means that the quality we get shouldn't really decrease as it goes, and that arguably will be just as important in this go.

(edit) okay strike that about the source material, it's based off of Fire and Blood. Which I believe is pending a part 2, so we might see the wonderful dichotomy of quality in this show as well...

reasons i can think of for the ratio, independent of the content of the trailers

- game of thrones ended really poorly, while lord of the rings's movie trilogy is viewed very positively, so for GOT fans, this looks like an opportunity to right wrongs, while LOTR fans are a lot more skeptical

- this show has clearly established source material, while LOTR looks like it's mostly original, so there's more reason for optimism on this series

I am highly skeptical they recapture the greatness of Danys rise or get anything close to it.

I mean that's some of the story but it's really about civil war which is neat.

And if they didnt mention sexism at all youd probably complain it wasnt accurate. I think its the overcoming part you take issue with.
