This would really cement Luffy's new status if he does. Feels weird to be reading these chapters as I'm watching all of it. i already knew of most of the big moments because I loosely followed the manga over the years.

But to be watching it all and have the context is interesting, for instance this end game of Wano and Kaido and Big Mom being toppled is being set in motion all the way back in episodes 500-600 which is where I am now. Like the 2nd act just finished or is finishing. So I wonder if this third and final act will be similar length, 500 or so chapters lol.

Iirc it was exactly 10 real life years from da moment law and luffy established deir alliance to when kaido was taken out lol. Crazy stuff

Yamato introducing himself as "I'm Yamato, Kaido's son" and not as "Oden" confirms, once and for all, and for the twentieth time in the series, that he's not "just roleplaying".

Really glad to see that nobody in this topic is misgendering him, and also not surprised that the people on the Anime & Manga board are still being transphobic about it.

I think he's still going to join, Momo telling him not to fight kind of gives me the impression that since Wano is now under attack by an admiral, they're getting the pirates out of there whether they're fully healed or not. I think all the samurai know that they're outmatched even if they outnumber him, and Momo wants Yamato to make sure he's on Luffy's ship when it leaves.

Eh, I'd kind of prefer that if any admiral was going to get stomped by Luffy, it's one that was already seen in the series before now. If the first thing Ryokugyu does in One Piece is get his ass kicked, it just makes him a jobber and not a threat and really takes away from the impact of his appearance.

I'm also not sure from his dialogue in this chapter if Ryokugyu is a World Noble, or just a simp for them.

i hate dis thought, yonko luffy should NEVER run from a place he just saved. If it was some random island dey stumbled upon, den sure escape before more marines come but dis is basically luffy's territory now, anyone who fucks with wano fucks with him

I don't mean the pirates themselves will run, I mean the samurai who took part in the battle are going to evac the crews whether they like it or not, especially with their top hitters laid up with serious injuries. Or, more likely, the minks are going to evacuate them on Zunesha so there can be an actual reason for the big ol' elephant to have shown up.

Which translations are more accurate? I tend to read the fan translation first because of course its available early Friday typically.

But then on Sunday I usually check out Viz as well and I don't like it as much usually haha.
