Played the N64 version as a kid and thought that the game had a ton of charm and a great atmosphere. Wasn't really surprised to find out that it's a cult classic later on. What does CE think of it?

Yeah, I forgot to ask, what do people think of the second one and the Tron Bonne game? Never got around to playing them.

Yeah, there was something that I always really liked about the meadow. It was almost like visiting a nice quiet meadow in real life. I have no idea why I got that sensation from Legends as opposed to any other game.

I didnt know it was on n64... shit, back then I thought the only rpgs it had were tactics ogre and quest. I bought my cousins old ps1 when he got a new model just to play rpgs.

I honestly was unimpressed because the gameplay and formula wasn't to my liking. To each their own and such, I was hoping for a Mega Man X style game in 3D.

...and then Mega Man X7 came out many years later and turned that idea into a colossal shitfest >__<

i absolutely love the first one. the reaver in my name comes from the reaverbots

i didnt play legends 2 until waaaaay later. for some reason in my area it was impossible to find a copy in any game store. when i got my hands on it i just didn't like it as much, and its fully possible that was because of nostalgia. however, it was still a great experience because despite it being years later i had only a vague idea of the plot in it so going in blind and seeing all the characters return was incredibly charming

I've had an itch to replay both of those games lately.

Legends 1 had a great colorful art style. 2 felt a bit mellowed out by comparison, but made up for it with a larger world. Also there are some great tunes in both games.

I think the formula for the gameplay could hold up really well today in a modern format. Breath of the Wild almost feels inspired by Legends with shrines dotted all over the map and ancient robots/technology driving the world.

Hard was really hard.
