Decided to start work on a dumb comic. I've been trying to improve my drawing, but I've hit a doldrum where it's like..."what am I even doing?" So to give myself something to work towards, and a way to force myself out of my comfort zone, decided to try a comic.

Used to do these a lot when I was in school. This'll be the first serious attempt since I was like, 14 lmao. But that's neither here nor there.

The point is, holy shit this is the weirdest disconnect. Despite "seeing" how this shit is supposed to look in my head, figuring out how to frame it is irritating. And then even after I've settled on what a panel should be, half the time I'll realize, "well if the next panel is going to be this, then the last panel needs to be changed". Or thinking "Well this technically shows what's happening but it's boring to look at"

I've spent like an hour just sketching a rough "storyboard" of literally the first goddam three pages. I haven't even started "for real" yet and I'm already mentally drained and irritated lmao.

Which sort of takes me back to where I was at the start. "Why am I even doing this?" But thinking about that question is gonna lead to some serious existential bullshit that I don't feel like dealing with on a Monday

Panel 2: a jaguar says "I'm good"
Panel 3: jaguar converses with person sitting next to him, mumbling
Panel 4: jaguar says, "the Inca King would also like you to bring some vanilla"
