I thought throughout the whole show that Wendy was essentially the same character are her from House of Cards.

Also since this is a topic about the show is Marty supposed to be a clinical psycho? He has like 0 emotions the entire show.

I think hes basically just a hamster on a wheel, doing whatever it takes to keep moving towards the goal of getting his family out from under the cartels thumb.

She directed like 2 episodes of the final season. I doubt she contributed in any notable way to the creative development of Wendy or her character.

And Ozarks is a show with good performances, solid dialog writing, and positively terrible plotting and story writing. It's the story of two people who are only moderately competent but just constantly roll Nat 20s.

Marty and Wendy are easily the worst characters in the show. And that's saying something cuz their kids are also awfully written.

Marty is emotionless because his character sucks shit. All of his emotions were drained in the first season and they forgot to write it back in.
