I finished the third case last night and I thought wow, that could've been a fifth case. That's amazing.

Now I'm getting starting the fourth case and Zieks is on trial for murdering Gregson and Kazuma is the prosecutor and I'm just like holy shit...this is totally a fifth case. This is even more amazing. What the hell. I'm going to play this shit all night. (Don't spoil me)

But now I'm just like what the fuck could the actual fifth case possibly be? I'm not sure how they top this

More than makes up for the first game's overall weak roster of cases imo

First game was basically a tutorial lol. I was pleasantly surprised when I actually got a second day of investigations on the second case in this one.

Heck yeah G2-3 is excellent

the more I think about GAA2 the closer I am to ranking it first

Tbh I feel G2-3 is better than G2-4 and G2-5

I personally consider GAA2 the best AA.

then T&T > AAI2 > SoJ to round out the 10/10 AA games.

Agreed BUT I put 2 in front of 3 personally. Still good opinions though.

GAA2 is a top-half ace attorney game but I've cooled down on it a bit

Case 3 is amazing, one of the series best, and from then on it's a roller coaster, absolutely love it.

GAA1 and GAA2 are on opposite ends of the quality spectrum.

Oh ok so cases 4 and 5 are the same case. That makes a lot of sense. My only other thought was that they'd time travel to 10 years ago for case 5 but I would feel like that would be anticlimactic in some ways so this makes sense

I personally think it's kind of a copout to make them the same case but it's all pretty good so it's fine I guess

The AA series makes some odd decisions on what counts as one case and what counts as two cases. But, ultimately, it is just a number and is only really a problem for when people try to rank AA cases.

I'm annoyed that G2-5 is just a continuation of G2-4 but oh well, whatever

hot take G2-4 isn't that good except for the twist reveal and the last segment

the best part of G2-4 is the reveal of Kazuma's banger prosecutor theme

and the final Holmes Dance of Deduction music

Definitely an all time great. I'd say it's tied with AA2 and 3

I need to replay both GAA games so I can solidify my thoughts on them (and finish up my counting stats), but I don't regard GAA2 as a top tier entry. No shame though because it's still quite good.

GAA2 was great but it isn't a top tier game for me because I can't escape the feeling that it was all rushed

g2-4 and g2-5 are huge anticlimactic messes to me, which probably hurts the game overall

but the overall quality of the game is super high, and it has some really excellent music, and naruhodo himself is top tier

in some ways it actually reminds me of AA3 how the best cases actually come early/in the middle of the game, while the more epic stuff loses the thread a bit

4 and 5 are anticlimactic in that it's obvious that stronghart was the villain but I mean it was obvious that von karma was the villain and that never stopped anyone from loving that game

The big twist is that Sholmes really was a genius the whole time and was just fucking with everyone

Ace Attorney usually does fake out reveals with stuff like that (like with Kazuma's dad initially being revealed as the Professor). They don't usually follow through with "important good guy's family member is actually a murderer" like that!
