My current plan is up and my S10 is banged up. A couple small cracks and will continue to deteriorate.

The S22 line is the one I can hop into with a new plan, but I just haven't been paying super close attention. Yay or nay? Is it worth it to jump all the way to the Ultra?

Shit, does the S22 really not have an SD card slot? I literally put in an upgrade request on Monday and it arrives today, if I had known that I wouldn't have done it >_<

No SD Slot or headphone jack. SD slot never bothered me since the last time I used one was like S3 or S6 and it was only for more storage. The phones these days have way more storage than I'll ever use. And I don't have any need to transfer files or anything so I've never really cared.

The headphone jack thing was only an issue once though. And that was only because I took my lunch break in a quiet empty room, and left my wireless earbuds at my desk. Pulled out my corded phones before realizing no jack lol. I could have just walked 10 seconds back to my desk but said screw it lol.

I have the S22 Ultra and it's pretty cool but is way too expensive tbh. I'll probably get 6 years out of it hopefully tho.

I upgraded to the 512gb s22 ultra from the S10+ and I really like it but I never owned a Note to compare it to. The internals on it are really good and I now I can never go back to a phone that has lower refresh rate

It also helps that almost immediately after ditching the S10+, the battery life on it really went to crap for some reason

I still charge and use it at home on wifi for a couple reasons (i.e. Bluetooth music in the shower in the mornings when I want my s22 to charge since I don't charge it overnight) and sometimes I'll leave to work where the S10 is at 80%+ and I'll come home to it at 20% when it hasn't done anything but sit in my drawer

I should also add that I will keep it for 3 years so the $800 trade in credit over 3 years that I got for trading in a busted S7 edge to ATT was perfect. Phone will end up being like $350 since I don't plan on switching carriers

Neither major top tier line is worth it. Bloated and overpriced without actually being functionally improved.

Agreed. It's not that I can't do without SD card slot, it's that I don't like such an anti-customer tactic. "Let's remove the slot so the customers will have to buy the more expensive model". NOoo thank you, you're NOT Apple!

If I have to use the S-series, I'll probably stick with S20 FE for as long as possible then downgrade to A-series or just ditch Samsung alltogether.

My Note 20 Ultra has an SD card slot. It was the last flagship to have one I think.

My next upgrade whenever that is won't have one and I anticipate that I'll get over the change. This Note is my first phone without a headphone jack and it hasn't bothered me one bit. I'll just get the next Note equivalent in a 256/512 variant which would be more than enough for me.

I'm surprised people here care more about the missing SD cart slot than the missing headphone port.

To answer your question TC, I have an S22 and I'm happy with it (wish it had a headphone port tho) but I should probably mention that I got it from work and didn't have to pay for it myself.

Get S20. The last SD card compatible phone, or S21 if you're into emulation.

I've been one of those people extremely stubborn on going wireless/bluetooth headphones. Once I did, I always wondered why I sticked with wired headphones for so long. Fuck those were always in the way.

I have a Galaxy S22 Ultra and it's great. My car has bluetooth and it just connects automatically when I get in, so I don't see an issue with that.

My only issue with wireless earbuds is there's a slight delay. Noticeable with this piano app I had. Other than that, I prefer wireless. So much more convenient.

I think cars/technology have improved with this. For a first time set up, all I have to do is just plug my phone into the USB port of the car, and it automatically adds the bluetooth connection. If I hop in my car (2022 CR-V hybrid), it plays music from my phone automatically without me having to do anything (if I left the source on Bluetooth that is).
