Actually that made it click for me, when I'm playing something like Warzone or Fall Guys or whatever with friends we just shoot the shit 90% of the time and only really start to focus on the game somewhat when things get intense, and even then we're just playing for fun and not taking it too seriously. But I could definitely see how you could have a "sweaty" squad that's trying to play optimally, only communicating pertinent information and stuff like that. Sounds boring lol

There's a difference though. It's playing with only winning in mind. Meaning rage quitting if you're losing, using all the meta setups, jumping around like felonious bolus, and generally being not very fun to play against.

That's you. For someone at Ninja's level, and even more so for competitive gamers competing at tournaments, it's more than "just a game."

I see too many good gamers self-deprecate about the fact they are good at a game because people look down on you for being good at games, yet won't look down for being good at so many other things. We're long past the days where games were just time-killers, games create thousands of careers a year. Even my favorite game ever, the simple, 1p-mainly Super Mario Odyssey, single-handedly created hundreds of careers for gamers, and even more behind the scenes. The ones who made it are the ones who became good at it, and treated it more than "just a game."
