They'll attack anyone but especially those who are weak or sick. Young, elderly, disabled, etc.

Yeah. Mixed. He sleeps with my niece on the couch when they're over. It helps me because my room is further from the front door than they sleep. So, if someone was to come in, he'd warn me before they could hurt anyone.

Tragic, it's crazy to me that people use people's deaths to try to enforce some stupid agenda.

Before it was pits it was Dobermans, Rottweilers, American Bulldogs, etc. It's always some dog that's the issue and not incompetent ownership.

I mean honestly if someone proposed a ban on all dogs as pets without proper licensing, I'd not dismiss it outright.

The 7 years of him never showing any sign of aggression. Only time I've seen his teeth is when he's panting or Im looking for something in his mouth. The fact he's been slapped by outdoor cats and just walks away disappointed he couldn't sniff them while showing no want to threaten them lol.

He probably passes aggravation tests better than the majority of people here >_>. Hell, he's more patient than I am with cats. If a cat slapped me by just geing near it, Id definitely be irritated. He just gets sad and walks away with his head down lol.

Im done tho. I kind of got pulled in to defend my dog in a topic that is actually about something tragic. This shouldn't be about me. It should be able how sad it is this happened and how we should not allow terrible people to have dogs

If you think "Never Abused. Never trained to fight" is equivalent to saying the same as the behavior examples I gave, it just shows how little you care to look into any type of subtlety.

It's like saying just because someone didn't train their kid to shoot up a school, they didn't contribute to the behavior or ignore signs. "Never abused and Never trained to fight" is one of the lowest bars I can think of when it comes to training a dog.

Funny how you can notice when people on this end do it in defense but can't catch that it's only happening because the other side opened the door by doing it first.

This suggest nothing except that pitbulls aren't all non-aggressive. Which, Im fully aware of. But to defend against made up things like this means all pits are aggressive, I gotta fill in the opposite end which will also cause me to make assumptions or fill in blanks that aren't included in this story. I didn't start that part of the argument on CE, Im just playing the game.

The lack of information can't just benefit one side and hinder the other. That's what creates bias.

We aren't lacking in information about pit bulls, however. And I never said or hinted at seriously in any pitbull topic ever that all pitbulls are aggressive. Just what is easily verified, that APBTs and ASTs make up a disproportionately large amount of attacks and fatalities and that people shouldn't gamble with their lives or the lives of others.

Some people, most in fact, gamble and win. Great. You won't see articles about the guy who lived a happy healthy life and then their 16 year old dog died of natural causes. We hear about these, and in nearly every case, everyone was making the gamble we told them not to make and we have nothing to say except "I told you so" and "please reconsider against making this gamble for yourself so you don't end up like these people."

Lol. Nobody would click on that. Also, those stories still exist. Just not in your algorithms. There's whole subreddits dedicated to the positives and wholesome stories of dogs raised well
