Not hugw turn-based RPGs but I've been wanting to go back to playing dragon quest or maybe I should actually play Chrono trigger. The only dragon quest game I've ever beat was dragon warrior monstes 2 and dragon quest v hand of the heavenly bride. Only thing I've played recently that's semi similar is darkest dungeon and slay the spire?? ... Copied to Clipboard!

I would start there if nothing else. The game is about 20-25 hours long so even if you want to move in a different direction, it is very consumable and worth the short time investment. ...
