Microsoft Sidewinder controller from about 20-25 years ago. I still have mine somewhere.

I think the XBone controller is better than the 360 one.

i like the latest xbox controller the best. the one is close but like the finish on the current one more.

My Series controller is better with the exception of the dedicated screenshot button.

I'd like it more if I could unbind it and use it freely in games as its own button, though.

The layout is perfect for both 3D and 2D games

And a huge flaw of the 360 controller that I see nobody ever talk about, is the fat battery compartment cramping the entire back of the controller making it impossible to hold in a comfortable way, that is fixed on the Wii U Pro with it being completely flat at the back

Yeah, agreed. Switch Pro/360 is close behind. I haven't used a PS controller since 2 so I have very little opinion on the modern dual shock, but I heard it's great also.

360 controller runs on two AA batteries. It will outlast the lithium battery bloat in anything since, and a few things alongside and before.

If it's not removable, it's inferior. With a 360 you can swap cheap rechargable batteries in a few seconds. With nonremovable rechargeable batteries, you either need to stop playing until they're charged again, or you're back in 2002 with a cabled controller.

Series X controller is better.

They let you remap it now. Haven't tried myself, so not sure how customizable it is, though.

Ill prefer the ps5 controller because of Sony bias. I don't even use the adaptive triggers.

Constantly swapping removeable batteries between the controller and a charging dock is much more inconvenient than plugging in a USB cable once every two weeks

The Wii U Pro gives plenty of warning when it'll be time to charge it, as its red "low power" indicator lasts as long as a DualShock 5's entire charge. You'd never play games long enough to ever need to play with it while it's charging

You're misrepresenting things. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

I think about those Gamecube triggers every day. We had it good back then. Also they had the right idea with making the main face button front and center and triple the size of the other face buttons. The angled joystick borders were great too.

8bitdo SN30 Pro+ is hands down the best controller you can get, aside from maybe the SN30 Pro 2 but I haven't tried that one

Adaptive triggers are a cool idea towards "immersion" but they hinder gameplay more times than not.

Maybe you should get good rechargeables.

The Duracell Rechargeables have the highest energy capacity out of any AA rechargeables.

Swapping AA batteries is literally < 10 second action.

With a charging cable, you gotta leave it plugged in for how many hours?

I meant more like actually binding it within individual games, I've had a few times where one more button would have made my life much easier.

I could like the xbox controller more if it wasn't for the asymmetrical sticks, whenever I play someone that uses both sticks like an FPS or twin stick shooters or something it feels so uncomfortable to use and I have to take breaks every so often to rest my hand. Plus I like the playstation dpad more for fighting games which I am playing alot now recently, and with PS4 controller being supported natively now for alot of things (and DS4Windows to help when it isn't) I'm pretty much exclusively using that now and haven't looked back since

Also side note, I really hate how both microsoft and nintendo use ABXY for their face buttons... but have the AB and XY swapped it triggers me whenever I think about it lol

I think Nintendo needs to stick with Symmetrical Sticks on top.

They need a controller with it's own layout identity that's different from Sony & MS.

My only issue is that the controllers don't use AA batteries =(.

I prefer AA batteries, that's the one thing MS got right IMO.

IDK why Playstation has stuck with that stick placement. We're not playing 2D games all the time here.
