The refrigerator part has stop cooling sometime in the last week even when set on the coldest temp setting, and there is a significant frost build-up in the freezer despite its door being closed.

The fridge that this replaced lasted for almost two decades, but this one can barely make it two years?

And I didn't get a warranty, either. The fridge itself + delivery and installation/removal of the old fridge already ran me $600.

You might try unplugging it, letting it defrost, and then plugging it back in to see if that helps.

This so much, don't panic. Don't crank it high, if it goes from like 1 to 7, keep it around 4 or less. Medium cool for a while, if you have no frost build up, and want it cooler, dial it down a half click and give it another week. If you start to get frost again, you know your limit.

Ah, that sucks. Ive heard of LG and Samsung crapping out pretty regularly, but always figured Kenmore was solid.

Ive had decent luck with Whirlpools.

reminds me of my old fridge i had where i used to live. may have to be replaced.
extra frosty and the fridge part wouldn't keep food cold.

The fridge itself was $500, and that was after it was already on sale and discounted from its regular price of $650.

But if that's still too low, then how much should a "good" fridge cost?

Unfortunately, unplugging it for a while didn't work.

I wonder if they make them last just long enough to be out of warranty on purpose.

At the time, the reviews were mostly positive.

Didnt really find what i was looking for. Curious if its a manual timer defrost or a circuit style board. Sounds like for whatever reason its not defrosting properly.

I remember when you got it. I still have that 1970s fridge that works like a champ(at least it did last time i checked) chilling in the garage of one of my properties.

You just gotta come to Brightmoor to get it.

There might be a timer gizmo you can dial around to force it back to fridge mode instead of defrost mode.
