Incline if you are only going to do one exercise, works your shoulders more for that V look and helps balance the upper vs. lower pec muscle (lower pec muscle is naturally thicker). I would do both though, I always do flat bench press and incline dumbell press or vice versa at least for every chest workout.

You should do both. Tbh it's better to use dumbbells if you're going for aesthetics imo.

It seems like bodybuilders are frequently advocating for incline BECAUSE of aesthetics, as nothing else hits the upper chest quite like it. However, it also puts more stress on the shoulder than most other chest workouts, so it can easily cause injuries if done improperly. I have bad shoulders to begin with, so if I ever work incline, I use only like half the weight I'd put on decline (which is much less stressful on the shoulders).

Hmmm, I actually have some new plates so I might actually be able to dumbells press properly. I work out in my garage and never had enough weight to dumbells press.

I'm doing PPLPPLR in a 7 day week

I'm thinking I'm thinking flat barbell + incline dumbell, and the second workout flat dumbell + incline barbell. Once I get in a groove I'll start switch it up and do incline first

I should do incline more. I have strong shoulders, can regularly strict military press 135 for reps, so the incline targeting shoulders too won't be a problem.

idea just occurred to me to split up my workout....back, chest/abs, shoulders/arms, legs/abs, rest....5 day cycle

If theres 1 thing I know about my body its that it takes time to recover. The frequency is still between 1-2 per week.

I could also combine legs and shoulders and skip "arms"....just do bis with back and tris with chest.
