Prices are too high, Interest is too high, and I keep getting outbidded on good houses even though I literally have like $110k in the bank and 820+ credit for a mortgage loan. And the houses I find that I can afford all have stupid water and foundation problems and would cost more than the difference, plus a headache.

I'm hoping maybe in a year that prices will go down, plus I can save up more for a lower principal >_> I can always refinance a mortgage rate, but I can't refinance the principal. Buying a house is fucking hard lol

I'm trying to squeeze a couple more years out of the car I've had paid off for 12 years and I moved a year ago out of a $800/mo rent house. Now I'm sure that rent would be over 1k/mo too.

Bought a house in March with an offer $30k over asking. There were 10 total offers on it too.

3700 sqft, 4BR/3.5BA, built in 2003, finished basement, front and backyard with a firepit.

I was looking in the Philadelphia area last October and houses that started at 80k at the start of the month ended at 160k, and I still got outbid.

I'm in a similar position. My wife and I were able to save decent money over the past few years and are looking. We aren't putting in offers yet but when we do I expect problems unless prices crash at least like 15%.

I'm so fucking thankful to have bought in August 2020. The market now is a fucking horror.

Expand your search area if possible, work with a realtor, and also make sure you lube up your anus because youre going to get FUCKED. Buying a house sucks, its like buying a car but it lasts for a month or more

No I'm just saying no one wants to live in low CoL areas

There is no such thing as a low CoL house area here (that I know of, I'd save for one if there was...) which is why I got confused

Bad is relative. But the area I was looking was full of minorities with a low crime rate.

It's mostly because boomers have most of the wealth lol
