Wind Waker is probably my favorite LoZ (either that or BotW), but with that said, no.

I still really enjoyed Twilight Princess.

But Wind Waker got a sequel on the DS. Phantom Hourglass

No. Wind Waker is one of my favorites, but then and now, I would prefer it be something different than the last

Windwaker is a 6/10 game with a handful of 10/10 segments. A direct sequel has a lot of potential but I don't trust 00's Nintendo to pull it off.

Main issue is that the sailing mechanic is inherently one that tells the player "go! explore the big blue world!", but you're railroaded into a largely linear progression anyway since all the items required to explore are either stuck in main dungeons or arbitrarily story-gated. (Why can we not just grab the fire/ice arrows whenever the hell we want? What would that break? Stupid fucking fairies >_>)

Post-BotW Nintendo seems to have gotten the stick out of its ass when it comes to player agency so it would probably be good these days. But for its time? Nah, TP was the right call.

WW sucked, IMO:

• game gets boring after tower of the gods
• it feels like an incomplete game
• the triforce hunt feels like a chore
• sailing is sluggish
• I hate the art style (not the cell shading, but the cutesy art direction)

Nah TP is the best of the formula Zelda games

My first time playing it was the HD collection with the "fixes" and time saves in place (like the swift sail, which I acquired as soon as possible) and it still felt like a chore to play. There are lots of problems with its design and pacing. The dungeons and such that did exist were pretty good, but there weren't enough of them and the sailing was tedious as shit--even with the HD collection special sail.

TP > WW

What I dislike about Twilight Princess is how it feels like a dungeon rush with nothing interesting in-between. Meanwhile Breath of the Wild and Wind Waker are my two favorites, and it seems like most of the fanbase hates the dungeons in those games.

Dungeons are fine enough but I don't want to spend the whole game either in one or running straight to the next one.

They're both very similar: they expect there to be much, much more time spent exploring a vast--and sometimes empty--open world compared to doing dungeons/hanging out in town. Clearly, BotW took some of its formula from Wind Waker, which is probably why I didn't really care for WW or BotW much. The OOT/TP style is definitely more my preference. A large-enough open world that's very dense and filled with dungeons and set pieces, without a ton of wasted space.

Honestly it could just be nostalgia for me since I played it on the GC when I was 14 and had a completely different outlook on games.
