The boyfriend was also considered bad for shooting... at unidentified intruders in the night. Because he was magically supposed to know who was behind the door. Showing your ID might be safer for you, but every time someone complies with commands they don't legally have to, it further enables police to do these things. --- No more shall man have wings to bear him to paradise. Give an inch and they take a mile. In that case though, I guess I did contribute to that a little, back when I was 20. Let 2 cops cuff me and search my car (including the glove box and the trunk) because they thought I was suspicious. They had no probable cause, but I let it happen because I was scared shitless.
