Nah don't feel guilty. Feeling bad that there's shittiness in the world doesn't help anyone, it just makes you feel worse. There's no point.

fwiw my post does have a more optimistic outcome. I've had a shit go of it so far, lots of bullying and depression and alcoholism. I lost a lot of really good friends last year, I can safely say that between May 2021 - May 2022 was the worst year of my life. But things are looking up.

I like my job, as tough as it can be on me at times. I'm moving into a new place. I have savings, I have prospects and I have kept in contact with some people who I now consider good friends of mine.

My life beforehand was wasted in a really demoralising friendship, in a household where I had to walk on eggshells all the time. I knew as early as 23 that my twenties were wasted - it wasn't going to get better for me. But that's the point where I made the resolution that my thirties were going to be the best years of my life. Fuck the twenties, shit sucks. Thirty is where it all works out for me.

I'm 27 now, and I'm beginning to get my shit together and move forward. I'm starting a new chapter of my life, right now - getting 27 off to a good start. I'm going to be plagued by trauma and shit for the rest of my life, and moving on doesn't mean that what I've been through is less shit than it has been. But for as bad as things have been, I'm finally getting to a point where I think I can be happy with my life, and with myself.

So like yeah I made a pithy comment about how shit went downhill from the age of 5 onwards. Still stand by that. But things are getting better right now, and I realise how much I have to offer going forward. I fully expect things to go to shit at some point, but I'm strong enough to keep this strong new foundation of my life, and I don't think I'm gonna lose it all and go back to a life where I had nothing going for me.

C. Dad got diagnosed with cancer right after pandemic started, and passed away less than a year after.

My year's been a pretty constant downhill. Not totally something to be down about, but yeah the trajectory is apparent.

I got injured at work almost a decade ago and it started a snowball effect of me being stuck in a metaphorical hole that I just cant seem to dig myself out of.

I actually dont hate my life, but its definitely not perfect. I keep thinking man, I wonder how much better of a position Id be in if I had only not had that happen to me back then

Got appendicitis and then dad passed. All happened this month. Idk what Im gonna do going forward

I had no real reason to complain about my life for several years until exactly two months ago when two people I cared deeply about, a mother and daughter, were both murdered in their home by an incel stalker. The older daughter I was closest to barely survived but I can't reach her no matter how hard I try. I still cry for them all every day.

The tragedies in my life in the last several years (lymphoma in '18 and COVID lockdowns two years later) caused me to enter major burst periods of reflection and self improvement.

It's not your fault that we were dealt a bad hand. It can be frustrating seeing constant bragging topics from people, but that's just something we have to learn to deal with.
