Wasn't suspenseful at all, and it was just an alien. What even was the whole point with the chimpanzee?

Peele still hasn't topped Keanu. His "horror" movies have all been pretty lame. Stick to comedy please.

Just like how they tried (and failed) to tame the chimp on the show, Steven Yuen's character develops a similar connection with another dangerous creature that he also ends up trying and failing to tame.

To add to this, his character thinks he is special in some way and that he had a bond because the chimp "spared" him, and again he believes he is special and chosen by the alien later, thinking they too formed a strong bond.

I've seen so many people ask what the point of the chimp is. I swear people don't really watch and pay attention.

Interesting analogy there, but the boy doesn't try to tame the chimp.

I felt zero suspense, and the whole movie fell flat to me. Even the ending, where a balloon popping "kills" the jellyfish alien.

I didn't say the boy tried to tame the chimp. The people running the show did. He just developed a special connection with the chimp as a kid and he's convinced himself that that was why it spared him. Now he's doing it again with another dangerous creature.

That makes more sense.

And for me, it was just long and wasn't that interesting to pay too much attention to the movie. It wasn't even that suspenseful. This movie is like an M. Night Shyamalan, where the payoff at the end sucks, but with no buildup and suspense.

I think it's a great movie but the problem most people have with it is probably because of it's marketing. I think people were expecting more suspense and horror from what trailers were showing.

I enjoyed it, but it wasnt amazing. My favorite part was the TMZ shit.

That also makes sense. The trailer hyped this movie up way too much.

Watching now and I'm so very, very bored.
