A person familiar with the matter confirmed that the Republican National Committee is not paying for Trumps legal fees related to the FBIs investigation and retrieval of documents at Mar-a-Lago. Thats a departure of sorts from the past. The RNC has, for example, paid for Trumps legal bills involving New York Attorney General Tish James investigation into the former presidents private businesses. The committee would stop paying Trumps legal fees should he formally declare his candidacy for president in the 2024 election a step he has hinted at but has yet to take.

Honestly I'm fine with them blowing donor money on his legal fees instead of using it to get people elected.

Didn't they make a deal with him that they would stop paying his legal bills if he announced his run for president before the mid terms?

They just got 1.6 billion dollars in dark money thanks to Leo so unless Rick Scott stole that shit too they have the cash. Trump might actually announce his run in a desperate bid to stall the multiple investigations into him even through he's been told that won't work by Garland himself. It's amazing, dude is a cornered rat right now, his house of cards is falling pretty fast and he's running out moves and that Indictment is practically an inevitability at this point.
