Maladaptive daydreaming is the worst. I spent too long being delusional, thinking I could have a "fun" job, and now I have to convince myself that everything's going to be okay with me spending the rest of my life working retail and/or food service.

How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man!!???

People just don't randomly find decent jobs. This never happens unless it's a stroke of luck, which I've never had.

I have skills and experience but I can't find a job that doesn't pay terribly where I'm not constantly treated like shit.

It's also selfish at this point for me to try to pursue my "dreams". I need to be in a mindset where I need to prioritize making money over everything else. Money is literally everything.

It's delusional and distracting. Most people don't have the privilege or networking necessary to "follow their dreams" (as BS as that statement is to begin with) and the pursuit of that would only be a waste of time, unless they have a clear-cut path of both following their goals and making a lot of money.

Again, money is the most important part of society and the world, and this is a fact.

You are way too young to be giving up on life. Wanna know how I know that? You're still alive.

Sometimes dreams get put on hold. Sometimes dreams die, but that doesn't mean you can't have new dreams. That doesn't mean you just lie there until the end.

Im broke af and pursuing what I like to do and loving life, do what you need to do and hustle on the side like the rest of us

I don't think you know what a fact means. I for one don't think money is the most important thing in life, and find pleasure in other pursuits; I don't even have a job. Like...

If you're over 18 you...don't have to work fast food/retail, you can easily get an entry level office job where you get to sit on your ass all day instead of having a random shitty schedule lol

I'm 31 and pursuing a second undergrad. I do feel too old for it... But I also feel too old to be a dishwasher again, so you know...

Its hard but im still learning to accept that I will never be of any significance with my life. I will continue to be a nobody that nobody will respect or care.

Everywhere else, my cousins in particular are all very popular with lots of friends. The girls are all fit, no fat. Are building surveyors, civil engineers, software engineers x3, finance department of the UK healthcare, teacher, accountant.

And im just shitty useless nobody inheriting my parents small family business that is struggling in these hard times. I feel like in a year or two, we'l have to sell it and then im going to be working a minimum wage clerk job.

It is why i always shy away from family gatherings and events like weddings n stuff.

I understand what you mean TC. I have no degree and no skills to speak of, so every job Ive had Ive had to start out from the very bottom of the company. Sucks, but its doable sometimes.

Its never too late man. Just do it. Nothing to lose if you think about it.

TC what is your dream?

I personally tried that, and I did shit work at an electrical company working 40 hours a week while taking classes when I got home. Then I got laid off.
