Is Oz trying to lose on purpose? Like running for Senate is just another money-making scam and he's trying to make sure he doesn't accidentally win somehow like Trump did.

GA personal anecdote update after seeing Herschel embarrass himself on Fox today.

I was in Cobb County in 2020 which is a left leaning area, but right now I'm temporarily in Bartow County which is very much right wing. Republican candidate signs are everywhere, you can't really go anywhere without seeing a sign for them and Let's Go Brandon is a regular staple on lawns, out of touch Rs not realizing they've lost control of their own meme.

I haven't seen a SINGLE God damn sign for Herschel.

Not only that, the local advertising is full of pro Warnock ads, but I've only seen a pro Herschel ad one time and it was an attack ad basically talking about how Warnock was going to turn Georgia into a communist regime, not saying a SINGLE thing about Herschel.

Another wrinkle in Georgia is the need to get over 50% to avoid the runoff. Eve if these baffling polls with Walker up are legit it could still end up in a runoff later which hopefully can lead to a repeat of how Warnock got the seat in the first place.

but it'd be nicer if Warnock just outright wins

Lived there a long time. You're probably right now but it still only barely went to HRC in 2016. It was definitely center-right up until then with a larger than average early rejection of MAGA-ism by moderates.

It's a shame I moved away from Georgia before 2020 when my presidential vote would have actually mattered for once.

Edit: My whole point in saying all that is that it kinda feels surreal to me how much it's changed there.

Cobb has had a pretty severe shift, primarily in Kennesaw, where it's comfortable left now. Definitely wasn't always the case, and you know it's due to actual efforts there because Bartow here right next store completely stagnated with the exact same ratio favoring Rs in 2016 and 2020.

This place still being all in on Trump but not giving damn about Herschel just makes his win seem that much more unlikely, knock on wood.
