I dunno of people can't think for themselves or if they're trying to protect people who can't think for themselves. But it you can, it's exactly that >_>. Sometimes the funniest moments to me are when people make something I love look dumb.

Nah man, Jeremy legit thinks he's some master film critic until people call him out on his terrible videos, where he then hides behind the "I was only pretending" excuse and/or deletes the video. You look at how he acted in those serious reviews of his in the car that are now all deleted and compare them to the cinemasins video of the same movie, and he's saying the exact same shit. I will say at least Dunkey with the exception of the Xenoblade tweet isn't in the habit of deleting videos.

He didn't even delete a video, just a tweet with "that" picture from XC3.

I think Dunkey made a very good video about why critics should be criticized tho. He didn't explicitly say that, but it was the video. I don't think he's against people criticizing him. You can see his humorous responses as him actually caring underneath. But that could be projecting. Ill be on Dunkey's side since I relate to using humor to write off stuff that's annoying me and then I just stop thinkong or caring about it. Which means, I could be projecting who I am onto him. But, whatever lol

I do think putting unavoidable spoilers to huge games right when the game comes out in people's faces is lame. Id be pissed if he'd of done that to RDR2 or something.

Dunkey always was a shit poster even during his LoL days, the only difference back then was he was a lot edgier. I will honestly say take his videos with a grain of salt and normally you can tell if he was being serious by the tone of his voice during his "reviews". With that said, I still find it hilarious that his most ratio'd video was his review of TLOU2. Normally he gets shit when making negative reviews on video games, but TLOU2 was the exception.

Some dudes made some very lengthy videos on why the Dunk's Death Stranding review was real dogwater. They all had a part to play in the breakup, Matt was always a bit of a prima donna who always wanted the channel to be more like Game Grumps, Pat's so fucking lazy he streams in his PJs and really hates admitting to mistakes, and Woolie takes everything at the pace of a snail and fails to grasp that "The Woolie Way" is not always the best way, like how he opted to play that weird anime game for the last fisticuffs/scrublords instead of Smash Ultimate just because he didn't want to grind the characters as quick as possible. Dude's friend literally just got done playing Mass Effect, and instead of using his save file to continue in 2, Woolie's on the controller this time and using his own save file where so many of the choices were different and applying a bunch of mods. Fucking why?

People take Dunkey way too seriously lol.

Also, Yahtzee is the best reviewer imo. He has his biases of course but he definitely seems the most fair of all the reviewers.

Kinda wish he had more time to expand on some of his stances but all game reviewers are too gimmicky.

even if there were different reasons for the breakup cumulatively (which i agree with and dislike matt and liam for their own respective reasons), pat being difficult to be around because of how obnoxious he is is both a unifying thing between two very different people and also something that pat himself has admitted to not being factually incorrect. woolie is the only person that can really tolerate him and around the time i stopped listening to the beastcast even that was feeling tenuous from time to time. one of the last episodes i listened to had woolie basically just saying he found something interesting and pat spending about 45 minutes getting increasingly aggressive and angry sounding as he told him it was bad. it got so bad that people on twitter or whatever dragged him for it and he actually apologized next episode

Yeah that's what I thought, apart from the Final video and Liam running his mouth during that time we've never heard specifics and everything else is fan speculation at best.

People need to understand, the every single time Dunkey shits on any game, his dumbass fanbase goes to that community to shit on them. I've seen it happen twice now, and it's annoying as fuck. The problem is, he often shits on community that's way smaller than his viewerbase.

Every time we complain about how he's spoiling shit (which really fucking cringe people in this topic are justifying it with flat out lies) or purposely sucking at the game or stretching out specific parts of the game to make it look as bad as possible, the problem is that the negativity is doublefolds.

Dunkey has done good for communities like the Undertale or Lisa fanbase and expanded them massively. Him shitting on a relatively smaller playerbase just basically eliminates this happening at all. We like to be able to have more people in the fanbase, but now we just get fucking trolls shitting on us for complaining about Dunkey lol. The fanbase didn't provoke Dunkey into making a bad video.

He needs to learn that he has the ears of probably millions of impressionable little kids. His videos do have consequences, and it never feels good to hear him shit on the passion of a community

i dont think matt has ever directly said "i left sbfp because i dont like pat" but there was a pretty obvious tension before he went during videos and especially during the podcast. the two of them barely discussed things despite being on the same talking show. and after he left he was open about not being his friend, shooting down the possibility of ever wanting to do stuff witth him, and being weird and snipey about him on social media. liam is the only one who said the quiet part loud because hes absolutely unable to not jump into dumb drama stuff, and hes dropped hints about it too.

dont take this as me saying liam or matt are good, i honestly probably like them less than pat. just saying, i would rather watch dunkey being disingenuous and funny and not hardcore game review than i would watch pat air out his mind goblins and make everyone uncomfortable

There's rumors that there was friction cuz Matt wasn't putting in the work despite taking the biggest cut since he was the founder (was frequently absent from podcasts, listless during LPs, etc.), and Pat was getting on Matt's nerves with his attitude. And it finally came to a head during the recording of Friday Night Fisticuffs for Smash Bros. Woolie apparently was the mediator and let Matt have the channel while Pat and Woolie got the podcast.

So many people now experience media vicariously through YouTubers and streamers... which is kind of lame in and of itself, but not much you can do about it now. It's not so bad with a positive video since impressionable people are more likely to just play it for themselves. And I'm not saying criticism shouldn't be allowed, but when a lot of it is insincere/exaggerated, that's a bad combination with impressionable fans

It's not overly detailed. He just doesn't care of the style of his videos it seems. He references the Death Stranding video where Dunkey said the game was trash and was deliberately throwing himself off ledges to demonstrate the point.

I find myself agreeing. I've watched Dunkey stuff and I'm just not sure who it's for. It's part criticism, part playing a character, part deliberately finding things to make jokes about, and part trying too hard to come up with comedic moments to make a silly voice at.
