Went to my buddys house on Sunday. I was there for 4 hours, and the dog was chained up in the rain the entire time. Didnt stop pouring the entire time i was there.

friend said thats pretty normal for them. Trashy people etc.

IF it wasnt his next door neighbor, I may have done something right then. But I dont want to cause problems for him.

Offer to buy the dog from them to offer the dog a better home with more freedom. You can even mention that the owners can come visit the dog if they have withdraw and miss their dog.

I mean... that's about all you can do, offer to buy it. Even shitty owners legally own their dogs.

Yeah. Like I wanted to knock and say something, but didnt want to cause future problems for my friend.

Go to a shelter or give a friendly stray a home.

We currently have five rescues lol. Obviously theres always going to be more animals that need a home.

Cant save them all, just felt really bad about this one.

Oh, I completely misread it. Other than a call to animal control, which probably wont come out to anything, probably not much you can do.

buddy isnt a huge animal guy, but he still goes over to pet it too.

really is such a sweet and trusting pup, makes me mad that it ended in such a neglectful hole.

I dunno, I've read random stories of people asking if they can adopt someone's mistreated dog and they actually said yes so might be worth a shot?

Went through that recently, bought the dog, and now it's here in my back yard. Has a little house but it's still on the chain because that's the best I can do. Bigger area

At least she's fed and watered (she wasn'tgetting those), but the plan was to give her to a better home after I rescued her and I can't for the life of me give this dog away
