Listed games in the poll are the only ones I see with any chance of winning. There are many other good games this year but these have The Game Awards main category energy this year.

Prob elden ring but I'm rooting for bayonetta 3 cuz I prefer action mashers

I can't see anything beating Elden Ring this year, but God of War Ragnarok might surprise me (it looks amazing).

I voted for Ragnarok because game reviewers drop their pants for any mention of GoW, and it will have recency bias over Elden Ring which released at the very start of the awards season.

Elden Ring and it wont even be close. Ill love GOWR Im positive of that. 20 hours later Ill put it down and never play it again. Elden Ring I couldnt put down after 150 hours and still get the itch to play it after 200 hours.

I loved Horizon Forbidden West too. After 60 hours and a platinum I dont feel the need to play it again.

There's no way it's not gonna be Elden Ring

after the last game awards, where God of War beat Spider-Man, RDR2, and all the other 2018 releases, I could see this happening.

Something like 80 million people watched it last year. A lot of people are just there for the trailers, though.

I think recency bias will give the edge to God of War. I imagine the story's also going to get people in their feelings which'll impact it too.

It's going to be between Elden Ring and God of War most likely.

I don't think Ragnarok will be a big enough leap over GOW2018 or different enough to win over Elden Ring.

The biggest issue in the first one was just enemy/boss variety. Going by the trailer, they already fixed that.

And there's just no way you don't get Mjolnir.

After months of Souls fans praising Elden Ring as an unparalleled masterpiece, I can't see anything getting more votes.

It's not the game that I want to win, but it most likely will.

Stray is the only one I've played but I assume Elden Ring gets it out of that list.

Elden Ring wins and deserves it.

I think it'll be an improvement over 2018 for sure. Which was already a pretty fantastic game.

But if a game is 'more of the same but better' it generally gets overlooked for awards compared to a big change up to the formula which was what GOW 2018 and Elden Ring were. Hell that's a reason why GOW 2018 won over RDR2 for a lot of places.

Maybe there's some huge game changing thing for Ragnarok but I don't think there will be.

I think game critics are overall pretty predictable honestly lol. Elden Ring is a game that successfully transitioned to open world using the roots of an already acclaimed series. It's the makings of a game that'll dominate awards even if people are gonna argue that Elden Ring has a lot more flaws or whatever.

I think you are underrating the role the story will play. The story in the first one is excellent, there's no reason to expect it'll be any different in the sequel. Elden Ring's story is actually pretty fun, but you have to work for it.

I dunno how popular it is among the general public either, though I know it's far more popular than any of the other Souls games.

That said, I'm not dying on this hill. It could easily go either way. I just give the slightest edge to GoW.

It's going to be a toss up between GoW and Elden Ring, like GoW18 and RDR2 were.

Elden Ring has sold 16.5 million and hasn't even had a holiday season of sales yet. It's ridiculously popular.

I know it sold a lot, but I'm just curious what percentage of those who bought it actually enjoyed it and how many got bodied by the Tree Sentinel and gave up.

Like I said though, I just give the edge to GoW. I wouldn't be surprised if Elden Ring takes it instead.
