The chicken itself smells fine and tastes good

But every fucking time. The day after I eat it, the tray that I throw away will have my whole apartment smelling like trash

Im not sure its less wasteful or not, but if you buy a really large package of chicken, you could portion it out into individual either ziploc or Tupperware and freeze some. Then youre just throwing that deathly rank packaging out once per however long. Idk.
