As I understand the Executive Branch requirements, there is a process that one must go through." Sen. Mike Rounds, a South Dakota Republican who sits on the Armed Services Committee, called the handling of classified documents a "very serious" issue. "I think anyone who takes the time to appropriately protect that information and who has taken the time to see what's in the information would have serious concerns about how items could be accessed if they're not stored properly," Rounds told CNN. "And so once again, up here, we take it very seriously. People can get hurt, people can get killed if it's not stored correctly, and if that information gets out." Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican and top Trump ally, also dismissed the former President's claims. "The process is probably more complicated than that," he said of Trump's claim that he could declassify anything by thinking about it.
