All i need a watch to do is tell me the time/date, and be water resistant. Thats it. So at most i wouldnt go anywhere north of 100 bucks.

Looked it up and it seems to cost 1/4 of the sell price to manufacture.

I recently got a $15 watch from target, brown, suede band with gold case, black dial. I've gotten alot of compliments on it. It matches my gold wedding band.

Its honestly nicer looking than most fancy watches I've seen. Eventually I'll get a nice one for formal occasions but I don't see myself getting a nice one for everyday wear. I was thinking tissot or something.

Rolexes hold their value really well. I'll just leave it at that.

I wouldn't ever pay over $50 for any kind of piece of clothing or accessory, let alone $1,000.

If I had the disposable income then sure. I want one expensive watch to wear to events and such. 3 pairs of Jordans. One designer, tailored suit.

Apple Watch that actually has several functions is the only watch I am happy to spend $500 on since you actually get value for your money.

A status symbol for me needs to have function and practical use, a $1,200 watch that does less then an Apple Watch and the same as a $20 watch is not only a waste of money but you are a fucking idiot to buy that shit.

jewelry, rings, etc have no function or practical use. Watches tell the time, and depending on the complications, date, speed (tachymeter), stopwatch, etc.

sure, Apple watches do more stuff. Apple watches become obsolete after 5 years or so, and their batteries wont last 10 years. A good watch like a patek philippe actually gains value with the years and you can pass it on to the next generation

I do not buy jewelry, expensive rings (Got some that related to my hobbies only that were not expensive), and the Apple Watch serves it's purpose now, it is not something to "pass down" and I find it very silly that people pass down watches.

I went with depends, I have built up a small collection of watches that I decided I liked and/or would pair nicely with certain attire. I've never gone past $400 but I tend not to say never to some ideas.
