I was having problems getting the game to launch, so i verified the files. didn't work. restarted computer, didn't work. uninstalled the game, and now when i click the "Install" button it crashes Steam.

all of my google is coming up with fixes for Cyberpunk crashing during gameplay, not refusal to install.

not having this problem with my other games

EDIT: this is a recent issue, i've been playing Cyberpunk all week without any problems

The first thing I'd try is clearing the download cache.

  • Click "Steam" in the top left
  • Open the "Settings"
  • Click on the Download tab and click on "Clear Download Cache" at the bottom

Yeah, that was a long shot lol. Hard to know what the issue is, just from what you've described.

If you recently installed an antivirus, or firewall, that might cause issues too. My antivirus was causing Forza 5 to crash when that first released.

Otherwise, you could also try:
  • updating your graphics drivers
  • updating Windows
  • booting in Safe Mode (to see if it's another program causing the crashes)
  • reinstalling Steam

graphics drivers and windows are fully up to date. reinstalling steam didn't work.

honestly, i think the drive i had steam on is starting to fail, so i'm going to install it on a different drive and see if that fixes things

EDIT: And now steam says all my games aren't installed
