Poll of the Day > I've been casually beating a game a day, want to consider recommendations.

So I've been wanting to beat a game a day for a long time, and I feel like I kinda finally am at this point, as I've played 30 games this month and it's making me happy.

I think it's working for me now because I'm not overthinking it, and I'm playing all sorts of games, not just mostly SNES games, so it feels sorta spontaneous. And I've been playing a lot of fangames.

Like I said, I think I wanna continue doing this.

I'm still willing to consider recommendations, but instead of giving a big list, can you recommend no more than 3 at a time. I think I'd enjoy it more if I just see the game recommended, and spontaneously choose to play something that I just see recommended.

Know that I'm a lot more likely to play it if it's a fangame, or an indie game. This also can include Skyrim quest mods, or a quest or campaign mod for several other games. I mostly play action games, and adventure games.

Edit: Oh, and if it's not on the PC, please make it a little easier on me, and tell me what system it's on. And if it's a fangame, or mod, please tell me what it's a fangame or mod for.

Pocket Crystal League + is a mod for a fangame which is basically a Pokemon version of Inscryption, on PC

Slice & Dice is an RPG dice game, for PC (Itch.io) or Android (Google Play)

are these supposed to be games beatable in a single day? most games I play would not fall in that category.

Ok, so I played a really great game that someone recommended, but I wanna keep it a surprise till the end of the day.

Everyone please feel free to recommend something else again.

Also, since I've beaten a game today, please feel free to recommend something that might take 2-3 days to beat, chances are I'll finish it a lot faster than you'd think.

I'm still willing to consider recommendations, but instead of giving a big list, can you recommend no more than 3 at a time. I think I'd enjoy it more if I just see the game recommended, and spontaneously choose to play something that I just saw recommended.

I was so excited to find out that this exists that I just had to play it. And yeah, it's basically the same game with alternate sounding music. I probably prefer the original music but the music is still pretty good!

On a side note, the video that showed me this games existence showed me this weird interesting take on super mario bros 2 Japan that reminded me a lot of Chip N Dales Rescue Rangers.

Metal Dragon

(Great 2021 Genesis isometric parody shooter.)

WOw, I did not expect this to be this good! It's a legit game made in 2021 that's a parody of a lot of games and movies of the 80's and 90's. Wasn't laugh out loud funny most of the time, but it was always entertaining. This is an easy recommend!

Legend of Mystical Ninja

(Great SNES Action RPG)

First of all, I wanna thank @Firewood18 for recommending this game, as a playthrough is long overdue. Been at least 2 or 3 years since I've played this. It's an absolute classic, and is so much fun.

Something I don't about this game is how it starts though. You get told by your friend that a woman is attacking anyone that hits on her, and all I can think of is how insanely willfully ignorant japan is on consent, and the reaction to a woman fighting people that likely creep on her is to go kick her ass. The fact that she's a ghost feels like such a cheap excuse to bypass this. Seriously not cool game! And then you find out that the ghost thing is a disguse and it's a cat person that's been waiting for someone to kick her ass...again, really not helping! This really dates this game by a lot!

Anyways, outside of that, the game is a lot of fun, and I enjoyed playing it with someone I know on fightcade!

The SNES?

How about The Violinist of Hamelin? I never finished it but I thought it was cute.

Or if you wanna do something halloween appropriate, there's always Super Castlevania IV... maybe Dungeon Master, but the SNES version's controls are a pain (it actually has an OST on the SNES, though, which is nice).

Onimusha: Warlords(Amazing Action-Horror game, Ps2)

2 hours in, and dear god is this game blowing me away.

Near the end of the game: I'm still having a really good time. Nothing is really impacting me emotionally perse, but I love the atmosphere of this game. Combat is pretty fun too, and I'm glad that combat is quick, and you don't fight more then 2 or 3 enemies at once so it doesn't wear out its welcome. I also like how it switches the perspective back and forther between the MC, and another character, and the other character is a badass woman too!

Even closer to the end: WOw, the music is so damn good in this too.

Even further: Oh great, they pointlessly fridged the girl you get to play as, it's not like the MC wasn't already taking things seriously!

At the end: Ok, so she just needed to rest, and she came back and helped the kids you trying to save escape. That was a really great ending, even if I didn't understand a lot of it. Just really really dug the atmosphere. Totally earns an easy recommend in my book.

I'd call this game sort of a mix between Resident Evil and DMC. Not really a very scary horror game, and the combat is nowhere near as fun as DMC1, but it still felt so god damn good to lose myself in its world for a few hours!

Again, easy recommend!

Damn this is impressive. So much fun hanging out with all of these likable chracters and helping them out. I also found it interesting how the game managed to make me like everyone despite the fact that I haven't seen most of these movies like Tangled, Moana, and Frozen.

I did the Mother Gothel main quest, which from what I can tell is the final main quest for this part of the Early Access, so I'm considering this complete for the moment.

New Super Mario Land(Good OG Gameboy SMLand fan remake, SNES)

This a rather impressive remake. It's mostly just recreates the levels, with the DS New Super Mario Bros elements and it does a good job! Koopas explode, the fire flower ability works like it does in Super Mario Land. You you get to wall jump, and the bosses are similar to they are in the gameboy Super Mario Land. Man is it fun fighting all of these bosses with much better quality music and visuals! It's basically mildly blurry 3d with clear music.

This does need to be said however, Tatanga, the last boss looks so bland!

And with that I've made up for lost time, yay!
