Ok I already know my mirror is dirty as hell. So let's just move past that.

But I've been starving myself to lose weight. I don't know if I may be anorexic or whatever. But I feel so fucking fat. Not even joking.

I'm almost 40 years old like most of you here and I know extra pounds can start adding up around that age.

Just looking for some constructive criticism here.

You look like you are at a healthy weight, just maintain the lifestyle but you dont need to lose any more.

And my god what's up with those dark patches on my chest. I don't notice them otherwise.

I'm so fucking gross. I mean I wouldn't have sex with me at all.

This is where it gets even weirder.

Even around truly fat people at work I feel self conscious. Like I refuse to wear some shirts because I think it'll show off my fatness. So I wear mostly big polo type shirts.

One old guy said I had love handles one day so maybe that sealed the deal. I was like ok, I guess I do.

A lot of people are way less fit than you might think. I have a pretty similar build and I'm perfectly fine with it. I know things could be better if I moderated my eating a bit more and went on more hikes, but it wouldn't really make me much happier cuz I like eating, and hiking gets a bit hard to do more than once a week

Also the average girls are banging fatter dudes. If you ever walk around and see other couples, it's just the truth. It's more about the confidence, and you can lose weight later if it's getting in the way of your health or your significant other comments on it

I feel similar in that aspect.

But what I really don't get is why I can't lose weight. I count calories and eat less than 1000 calories per day.

How is it staying on? It makes me afraid that my metabolism is totally fucked.

this is fucking stupid and will just harm you in the long run since it'll kill your metabolism

eat 2000kcal and walk at a brisk pace for 15 minutes a day and you'll at least maintain if not lose weight

I walk all day at work though.

But maybe my lack of calories is the problem? I have a Bowflex but haven't used it for years. Working out may help. Even my mom told me I need to bulk up my arms. I was like really? I'm already self couscous enough now my own mother is telling me I look like shit.

Well maybe. It could be the dirty mirror though. I've since hit it with Windex so it's good.

I was large at one point, close to 300. I dropped to about 210 and insisted on staying at 2XL shirt because I just felt fat. Now I'm at 170 and I completely understand the mindset, because I felt like that for so long until I finally tried something on at the store and the shirt was a M and I thought holy shit.. I didn't realize. I still feel like I'm heavy at 170 around 5'11.

I'm the same height but 175 pounds.

Growing up I was usually around 165 or so. Maybe that's the issue. I put on 10 pounds of pure fat.

And I can tell when I put on my pants and belt. I'm up to the third hole now on the belt when I was usually on the 4th hole. So yeah, I've gotten fatter.

And it boggles my mind because I don't eat bad food. I even started making fermented food like kimchi to help with my health. It doesn't seem to be doing anything. I mean it does help me sleep better but as far as weight goes it's not helping.

Thats a possibility lol but I was gonna say before you continue developing anorexia you might also try making some other aesthetic changes like trimming / shaving your body hair and getting a tan.

My God, no. Tanning is one of the things I'm most against in this world.

People tell me I look way younger because I don't go out in the sun, or at least wear sunscreen when I do.

My mother has had 2 forms of skin cancer. She's currently battling one on her ear. It's a slow-growing form and she won't have surgery until December.

But yeah, please don't be a sun worshiper. It's not a good thing.

My dermatologist checked everything out.

I had one cut off my face a few years ago because it looked like cancer. It wasn't though.

And I think I may just be dirty. I don't even see the dark mark on my right tit now lol

I need help.

I used to do that in my early 20s. I could do over 50 at a time.

I was kind of ripped back in the day. I guess it's never too late to get back in the swing of things. I recently saw some 67 year old actor got buff as fuck for a new role. Why can't I do this?

Because like most people who are are fat to average, I'm lazy.

It takes dedication. I mean I'd love to look like an underwear model again but I'm not sure if I can commit to it.

A bit of advice is to establish a small fitness to start. I got back into running this year to lose weight after gaining a ton when I got out of the air force. I signed up for a training program through an app I use, and the first three weeks I never ran over 2 miles at once. When the program said I was only doing 1.36 miles to start, I thought it was a joke because that's nothing compared to what I used to run, but I was huffing and puffing at the end every time. I needed to start easy because my body couldn't handle it. It's easy to get discouraged when youre getting demolished every day, but easing in can help build confidence.

Starting small also helps make the routine, well, routine. My runs at first were 20 minutes, and that was easy to fit into the day. Wake up 20 minutes earlier? Sure, I can do that. I can do that every day. Establishing the routine will take about two weeks, but if you start easy, it's a lot easier to stil out those first few weeks until it just becomes a daily routine for you.

At our ages the most important thing is a diet, though. Don't restrict yourself a ton on that, just scale back what you are eating a bit and make sure your diet is balanced. There's a lot to that that I can't explain well lol
